Cause of high temperature of grate cooler crusher bearing

Our 5000t / D production line is equipped with the fourth generation push rod grate cooler, model sfc4 × 5F. It has operated normally since it was put into operation. It has the characteristics of high degree of automation, low equipment failure rate and simple maintenance. However, after the overhaul and start-up, there was a problem of high bearing temperature of grate cooler crusher, which seriously affected the safe operation of the equipment.

I. Phenomenon

The kiln was fed, and the clinker output reached 5000t / D, but the bearing temperature of the grate cooler crusher kept rising and there was no stable trend. The mechanical and electrical technicians immediately conducted a comprehensive inspection of the crusher. The results showed that the bearing had no abnormal sound, the vibration was normal, the lubrication met the requirements, and the automatic temperature measurement system was normal, eliminating the mechanical and electrical reasons. When the bearing temperature rises rapidly to 80 ℃ (the normal value is about 40 ~ 50 ℃, and the 80 ℃ interlocking trip stops), in order to ensure the normal start-up, remedial measures such as forced cooling with compressed air, manual forced addition of lubricating oil every 12 hours and unlocking can only be taken to stabilize the bearing temperature to 70 ℃, but the measured bearing temperature is still 70 ~ 90 ℃, At the same time, the temperature of grate cooler casing rises from 120 ℃ to 160 ℃.

 

II. Analysis of Reasons Affecting the Bearing Temperature of Crusher

2.1 the high-temperature air in the grate cooler is not discharged in time

Due to the low separation efficiency of the settling chamber, a large number of clinker particles enter the AQC furnace, resulting in a large amount of ash accumulation at the bottom, resulting in poor ventilation of the AQC furnace system. Each shift can only dredge the pipeline by manually discharging ash outward. Therefore, it is decided to install FU conveyor at the lower part of the furnace. However, the project has not been completed at this time, so it is speculated that the system ventilation is not smooth due to the serious ash accumulation at the bottom of the furnace, and the high-temperature air in the grate cooler is not discharged in time, resulting in the high temperature of the grate cooler body. Therefore, it is preliminarily decided to complete the project first and then observe the situation. At 12:00, after the installation of the FU conveyor was completed and the furnace ash was emptied, the furnace ventilation was smooth, but the high temperature of the grate cooler body remained unchanged. It can be determined that it was not caused by the non discharge of high-temperature gas.

 

2.2 the internal thermal system of grate cooler has changed

Due to the frequent "snowman" accidents of the machine, and the clinker temperature of the grate cooler is high for a long time, with an average of 200 ℃, which seriously affects the production of the system. In this overhaul, two adjustments were made to the grate cooler system. One is to replace 6 air guns with greater capacity at the front end, increase the pushing and blowing of clinker out of the kiln, and reduce the probability of building a "snowman". The second is to fix the grate bed air chamber, remove 70 air volume regulating plates, forcibly increase the cooling air volume and quench the clinker. Therefore, it is speculated that these two changes cause the high body temperature.

 

After one day's observation, the body temperature of the grate cooler is still high, which can be determined that it is not caused by the increase of the capacity of the air monitor.

 

Finally, it is judged that the air volume regulating plate is removed from the air chamber of the fixed grate bed, resulting in excessive cold air entering the fixed end and accelerated movement speed of high-temperature clinker. It results in shortened residence time in the fixed grate bed, high-temperature clinker entering the medium temperature zone, causing the high-temperature zone in the grate cooler to move backward, and the temperature in the low-temperature zone to rise, resulting in high bearing temperature of the crusher. After the kiln was shut down due to electrical failure, the removed air plate in the air chamber was restored to its original position. The body temperature of the grate cooler was reduced to 140 ℃ and the bearing temperature returned to normal.

 

III. Conclusion

The high bearing temperature of grate cooler crusher is mainly caused by lubrication, mechanical and electrical reasons. There are few process reasons, which are easy to be ignored. Therefore, strengthening the process management of thermal equipment and maintaining a scientific and stable thermal system plays a vital role in the safe operation of equipment.
